I don’t need an Event Planner

That’s what I always thought too! Until I came to a realization.

Any event that turned out great, turned out that way because there was a team or even a person who ensured there was an organization, who made it so that the event was properly planned.

The essence of an Event Planner cannot be overemphasized in our society and for our gatherings. In this piece, I’m going to mention some of the things that are commonly known to be ‘operative in our society’ and ‘what should really be’.

Firstly, why should I hire an event planner when I have family and friends? This very burden was what triggered my interest in doing this professionally. How that at an event, it’s easy for you to locate the friends and family of the host, most likely due to the imprints of stress written all over their faces. Dear Friend or Family to the host, I know how much you value your relationship with the host but sometimes, it puts that relationship at risk (especially if one thing or the other was badly processed by you during the course of planning the event). Why not allow professional hands carry your desired thoughts and dreams and then with them, make it a reality?

Another common one is the thought that hiring a Planner or Consultant is expensive! ‘They request for exorbitant fees, why go bankrupt because I need to hire one’? Well, this mostly happens because of hearsays. It will do you more good to reach out to one in person, have a conversation with them and get firsthand clarifications. You might also want to consider, how much really would you be willing to spend to enjoy the rare opportunity of a sane mind during the course of the delivery of your event? Really!

Personally, I often say, ‘let me take your Panadol for you’. It means those aches you unnecessarily cause for yourself, you could just hand them over to a professional Event Planner and the rest will be story!

People also often ask, ‘why hire an event planner when it’s just a small gathering?’ Whether it’s a small or large gathering, planning is required. It’s the way you look at it that matters ultimately.

That will be all for now. Let me know why you won’t hire an event planner and for those who will or who have at a point in time hired one, let’s know why you will or did so.
